His Excellency Sir Chief Dr. Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion, CFR, the Esama of Benin Kingdom, is one of Nigeria's most accomplished entrepreneurs, educationists, philanthropists, traditional leaders and elder statesmen.

Born on September 11, 1934, Chief Igbinedion has, for several decades, played a pivotal role in Nigeria's socio-economic development through visionary leadership, enterprise and service to humanity.

His remarkable achievements span commerce, education, aviation, banking, media, hospitality, agriculture and community development.

Widely respected as a trailblazer in private sector development, Chief Igbinedion established and nurtured several successful businesses that created employment opportunities and contributed significantly to economic growth.

Through the Okada Group, he built a diversified business empire whose impact extends across multiple sectors of the Nigerian economy.

A passionate advocate for education, Chief Igbinedion made history as the Founder of Igbinedion University, Okada, Nigeria's first private university. The institution has produced thousands of graduates who continue to make meaningful contributions across various professions and industries within Nigeria and beyond.

His contributions to aviation are equally noteworthy. He was among the pioneers who helped shape Nigeria's private aviation sector through innovation, courage and commitment to national development.
